1. Conceptualize the Solution

Like a lot of makers, we felt restrained by the materials available for hobbyist grade FDM 3D printers. To overcome this obstacle, we started testing different ways to make regular 3D prints stronger. The resulting solution consisted of injecting a custom hemp fiber composite material into PLA parts.

2. Create an Ugly Proof-of-Concept Prototype

When we discovered an adequately strong composite material, we found out it was very difficult to work with. This is what pushed us to create a device that will assist in this task. We're calling it the Atlas Pump. Our proof-of-concept device was the ugliest thing imaginable: hastily made 3D printed components, electrical tape for seals, very questionable electrical work, and the list goes on.

3. Create an Aesthetic Functional Prototype

After proving the model, we went through multiple iterations for a more public ready design. This included a more robust internal system, as well as new features and materials. While we may consider further developments in the future, we feel as though we have a capable and appealing construction.

4. Optimize Product for Production

We are currently looking at optimizing the product for higher quantity production. We will be launching a Kickstarter campaign on August 1st to make the product available to the public and are preparing for whatever demand may come. If you would like to see this product come to life, please check out our Kickstarter once the page goes live. Any level of support can go a long way.

5. Production and Shipping

Upon the potential completion of our Kickstarter, this will mark the beginning of production for Kratotech. We are keeping up with our homework to maximize our chances of delivering a robust product in a timely manner. We plan on keeping our community a strong part of this journey and will do our best to keep backers updated on all developments.
Kickstarter Launch
August 1st, 2023
We are currently working on developing our Kickstarter page. Once we have everything created, we will have the link to the campaign right here.
About Kratotech
Kratotech is a technology startup based out of southwest Wisconsin. This region is rich with roots of innovation and provides a great foundation to build tools for creators. We plan to build reinforcement devices that expand what was previously possible for hobbyists to create. This goal is established within the idea that not every great creation needs to come from a lab. To learn more about Kratotech, feel free to contact us or check out or social media.
